SEMINAR: The Future of Global Energy Presenter: Dr Peter Hefele ( Director of the Regional Project “Energy Security and Climate Change” (RECAP), Hong Kong) Time: 9:30-11:00 Dr Hefele started his presentation by speaking about urbanisation, sustainable development, climate change and energy security. He mentioned about the 3 D’s which are digitalisation, decarbonisation and decentralisation. He explains each of this in detail. He mentioned about the energy trilemma which include energy security, energy equity and environmental sustainability. He speaks in his presentation about the five major trends in global energy politics. The presentation also covers topics on protecting critical infrastructure, the rise of renewables and further electrification, investment in renewables and electrification. He concluded the presentation by speaking about the critical raw material supply security after which there was a question and answer session between the students and Dr Hefele.
