International Talkies

A special talk was delivered for the students of MAIS by Mr. David Devadas (Distinguished Fellow, Institute of Social Sciences and Contributing editor, First Post) on 20th September 2018. The theme for the talk was CPEC, Kashmir and Indo-Pak Relations, which holds immense contemporary relevance. Being an eminent journalist and scholar in the field, Dr. Devdas shared insights gathered from personal research conducted over the years. He touched not only the political and strategic aspects of the CPEC, but also the consequences of the project in the field of agriculture and energy production in the region. Further, he delved into the potential of the grid to facilitate cultural exchanges and diplomatic channels. He expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in Kashmir and the vulnerable position of India in face of increasingly closer ties of China and Pakistan.
