LYCEUM - BATTLE OF BRAINS

LYCEUM, the Post-Graduate Students’ Association for the department of International Studies and History, wishes to organize an inter-departmental Academic Fest in December, 2017. Objectives of the fest :  1)       To increase awareness about the department of International Studies and History in general and Masters in International Studies in particular thereby, making our presence felt on campus. 2)       To create space for inter-disciplinary interaction, learning and intellectual exhanges.  3)       To encourage an environment of greater questioning, analysis and discussion. Panel Discussion on India's Western Neighborhood: The Afghanistan-Pakistan-Iran Triangle

Department of International Studies, Christ (deemed to be University ) , hosted a panel discussion on India's Western Neighbourhood: The Afghanistan-Pakistan-Iran Triangle in a collaborative event with the School of Conflict and Strategic Studies, N ational I nstitute of A dvanced S tudies (NIAS), Department of Political Science, St. Joseph’s College and the Department of Political Science, Bangalore University on 1 December 2017. The event was felicitated by remarks from Dr.Venugopal Menon, Head of the Department, Department of International Studies, Christ (deemed to be University ) and Fr Dr Jose CC, Head of Student affairs. In due attendance representing the institutions were, Dr Suba Chandran from NIAS, Dr Sujith and Dr Vinod from St. Joseph's college and Dr Surendra from Bang a lore University. India and US Relations: Mapping the Trajectory

St. Joseph College (Autonomous) in association with National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore University and Christ University held the Panel Discussion on India – US elections: Mapping the trajectory at St. Joseph Auditorium on the 10 th of August. The event was graced by former ambassador of India to Russian Federation PS Raghavan, Lt. General Prakash Menon, Prof. Narendra Pani and. The panel discussion was chaired by prof. MJ Vinod, from Department of Political Science, Bangalore University. The event commenced with recitation of verses from religious texts seeking blessings of the almighty, followed by welcome address by Fr. Melvin, Principal, St. Joseph College and Dr. Subhash Chandra of NIAS. The panel discussion focused on the diplomatic, defence and economic aspects of relations between India and US. Mr. Raghavan touched upon the strategic partnerships with relation to US relations with Pakistan and China and Nuclear deals between India and US and India’s recent in
