Inauguration of the Journal Club

The Department of International Studies and History held the inauguration of Journal Club on 18 th August 2016 at the Conference Room, Christ University. The occasion was presided over by Dr. Anil Joseph Pinto, Registrar, Christ University, Father Jose CC, Director Department of International Studies and History and Dr. Venugopal Menon, HoD, Department of International Studies and History. Mr. Claudius and Mr. Anil from the placement Department were also present to give a briefing to the students on the opportunities available. Amanpreet Kaur from 2 nd year International Studies gave a brief introduction to Journal Club and its functioning and objectives of the club. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Venugopal Menon. Talk by Dr.Craig on US Electoral Process

The department of International Studies and History on August 2 nd held a talk on the US Electoral Process by Dr. Craig. L. Dicker, Counselor, Embassy of US, New Delhi. The programme was attended by Students of Department of International Studies and History and also by the students of the School of Law. The programme commenced with an invocation by the students of 2 nd Year MAIS followed by an introduction to the keynote speaker by Dr. Venugopal Menon, HoD, Department of International Studies and History. Dr. Craig spoke on the evolution of the US Elections and later moved to the existing scenario where he spoke about the stiff competition between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. He touched upon aspects of the funding of the electoral process. He greatly  emphasised  on the increasing role of Social Media in the Election process.
