Talk on Refugee Crisis by Prof. Thomas Flamson

The Department of International Studies and History, held a guest lecture by Prof. Thomas Flamson on Refugee Crisis on 25 th January at the Sky View on the topic – Refugee Crisis. The programme began with an introduction to Prof. Thomas Flamson, Head of Department, and History. This was followed by a brief presentation on the migration crisis. The talk began with  a short slide show on the map of Germany during the World War II and migration problems have been engulfing the country of Germany. He spoke about the refugees and the Guest workers (Gastarbeiter) and the impact of the Economic Crisis of 1973 leading to the stopping of the recruitment drive of the guest workers. The lecture also comprised of statistics showing the diversity of cultures and religions of the refugees and the countries from where they came. The Department of International Studies and History takes great pride in informing you about the first interview of Chitresh Shrivastva, a First Year International Studies student on his passion for railways and his opinions regarding Indian Railways.  Chitresh Shrivastva has been a student of Christ University for the past 4 years. He pursued his Bachelors in Media Studies, English and Psychology and later joined Masters Programme in International Studies in 2016. He hols a great interest in the field of Indian Railways. Over the span of 4 years he has delivered 5 lectures across the certificate course and UG and PG classes on the subject of Indian Railways.
