Congratulations to Mr. Chitresh Shrivastva on his Research Achievement

The Department of International Studies and History is pleased to inform that its alumni Mr. Chitresh Shrivastva has been offered a co - authorship by Mr. Mahmoud Ali of El - Mina University, Egypt for an in-depth research paper on High - Speed Rail in India. The discussions on the project have started and the project shall commence shortly

His second research project titled "Railway Electrification in India: An Assessment" , which is currently in progress has received a recommendation by Mr. Stabak Roy, Professor, Department of Geography and Disaster Management Management, who is also a research fellow at the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi

Prior to the above mentioned research projects, Mr. Shrivastva has also contributed for websites such as South Asian Voices, Youth Ki Awaaz and also writes blogs on policies related to Indian Railways. Mr Shrivastva so far has 72 publications to his credit, which also include articles in national newspapers such as - The Hindu, Dainik Bhaskar and Railway Related Magazines such as Rail Business [Focus India]

His blog Indian  Railways - The Wheels of the Nation receives  readers from US,  UK, Turkey , Ireland, Switzerland,  Russia, Germany and other countries. He has also given interview  on his interest in the  field of railways to CNews, which again is a great achievement. His story on his interest  was also published in  Life Beyond Numbers. He has  also presented research papers on railways pertaining to the domains of literature, media, environment. He received award for the best paper in Media at Synthesize Conference in 2017 and also has a thesis on High - Speed Rail Corridor titled "High - Speed Rail Corridor: The Role of External Actors" to his credit. Apart from research contributions, he has also delivered numerous lectures on Railways to students from the domains of Economics, History, Media, English to name a few. The department congratulates Mr. Chitresh on his achievement and wishes him the very best for his upcoming endeavors

MoU with ASHOKA University – Harvard Yenching Institute

                                  With immense pleasure and happiness, we would like to inform you that the Department of International Studies, Political Science and History, CHRIST (Deemed To Be University) has signed a MoU with Ashoka University – Harvard Yenching Institute. This MoU is to build academic and research resources on China Studies and related areas as a thriving discipline. It will also enable the department to create new knowledge in India about different countries, particularly on China. The MoU will help the department to provide promising scholars studying China with the opportunity to share their work and knowledge with a wider audience through Lectures, Courses, and Publications and enhance research opportunities for young post-doctoral scholars. As per the provisions of the MoU, CHRIST will enrol and host postdoctoral fellow(s) selected through China Studies Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme in collaboration with Ashoka.
