Learnings From Liverpool

The Big Hope 2, Young Leaders Congress, held at Liverpool Hope University in Liverpool, United Kingdom was an exceptional event. This event was an extension of the first Big Hope event held a decade ago. This event basically comprised of various activities, lectures, discussion forums, and learning tracks designed for each participant according to their interests. Participants were given end number of themes to choose from. Some of them were Environment & Technology, Migration, Faith, Birth Project, Women in Leadership, Education, Sports, Art & Culture, Community, Business, Health & Well-being, Disability Gains, Peace & Youth Engagement and International Learning Experiences. For Discussion Forum my topic of choice was Environment & Technology from which I gathered some very creative and ingenious Ideas. Photo Gallery: International Affairs Quiz

An International Affairs Quiz was held for all 2nd and 3rd year students of Christ by the Department of International Studies and History on 27th July, 2018. Some of the themes covered in the quiz were:  Foreign Policies of India, US, Russia and China. Current news and events of international politics General knowledge on countries and their governments. The quiz witnessed a huge turnout and was a learning experience for both the participants and the audience. Following are some pictures from the event: 

Indo-Korean Utsava: Celebrating Togetherness

 As a part of “VA Indo-Korean Utsava”, a two day event organised by the Department of International Studies & History and Innovation Centre, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in association with the Consulate General of Republic of Korea, an International seminar was conducted. Professors and Scholars from various disciplines presented in the seminar in three sessions under the themes of India-East Asia economic relations, Politico-security relationship and Technology as a factor in foreign relations. Session I: India-East Asia Economic Relations The first presentation was by Dr. Hyunchae Park on the topic “Boosting Economic Relationship between India and Jeonla Do including Gwangju Metropolitan City”. In his presentation, Dr. Hyunchae Park spoke on how to boost economic relationship between India and Korea. He mainly focused on the cultural aspects to compare between the countries. The speaker also spoke on the strategies to bridge gap between India and Korea culturally.
