Internship Experience-India Bound-Rupal Agarwal

India bound is a risk advisory which in the most basic sense advises its clients on what possible measures can be taken during any disaster like a fire incident or a blast. Therefore the work here requires us to have knowledge of anything and everything happening around the world so that an update can be sent to all concerned clients. Such work commitment has made me much more aware of world events and has added to my knowledge about world affairs. The analysis of situations requires us to connect the dots and this in turn requires full knowledge of the background of the event so that the present context can make sense. Going into the roots of an issue before forming any judgement is one important that I learned from this firm. This experience has not just enhanced my awareness of what's going around the world but has also made me understand that even a humanities student can pursue a career in corporate world with a background of political science.  All it requires is all round...

Internship Experience- Indian Council of World Affairs-Avishka Ashok

My experience at the Indian Council of World Affairs has taught me the tedious process of research and the internal working of a think tank. Being a part of the core meetings and closed door conferences was a fascinating experience. I attended a meeting on the Afghan Peace Process which was attended by the Chief of Afghan High Peace Council and other delegates from Afghanistan. There was a conference on Indian - Russian relations which was attended by many researchers and ambassadors. I had the opportunity to work under research fellows at ICWA who guided me through my research paper. It was an enlightening experience as I realized the efforts that one needs to put to write a good paper. The work culture is serious and relaxed at the same time. The fellows are busy with more than 4-5 projects at the same time. They don’t waste time and are always seen working on their projects. But there are times when the fellows would come to us and talk for a while. These conversations were info...

Internship Experience-India Bound- Anjana Mary Suresh

The internship at India Bound, a risk management consulting firm, provided me with an opportunity to prepare myself for a corporate world. It was an on ground experience of what was taught in the classroom. Being my first experience as an intern, it was challenging and quite interesting. We had six whole weeks to explore the workspace. At some point of time the work turned out to be hectic, but it did help me plan and execute my work in a more professional scenario. The work they assigned was informative and it helped improving my research and analytical skills. It gave me an opportunity to work as a team and to build up confidence to express my views and ideas. I had many different tasks, and learned quite a lot from each one of them . During this period I got opportunity to interact with many resourceful people which in turn helped me to enhance my knowledge. It was a holistic method which provided me with real world experience related to my career goals and interests. The works d...

Internship Experience-Indian Institute of Defence Studies-Tanvi Kaur

I interned with IDSA (Indian Institute of Defence Studies) for a period of six weeks – 15/4/19 – 24/5/19. IDSA is a think tank which specialises in national security and foreign policy. My experience while working there, has been quite enriching and beneficial. IDSA has multiple centres under it – Internal Security, Military Affairs, South Asia, East Asia, Europe, Strategic Technologies and many others. I was placed under the Strategic Technologies centre as it aligned with my research interests in college. I have been dealing with social media influence with regard to my research paper and by working under this particular centre, I was able to gain insights by multiple experts in the field. I wrote and published a research article titled ‘ Agro-Warfare: Attack on Agriculture and Livestock ’ in the CBW (Chemical and Biological Weapons) magazine of IDSA, which is compiled by the Centre of Strategic Technologies. The article was based on the future of chemical and biological weapons...
