Experiences of Lockdown

Lakshmi Karlekar

The World is frozen in time amid the fears of the novel coronavirus which has instigated a sense of unity in all of us to fight this deadly biological warfare. With the nation urging its citizens to strictly follow lockdown, social distancing which equips one for a better healthy living, I have decided to make the best utility of the time given. As a true patriot, I respect and understand the seriousness of the situation and hence I have engaged myself in online learning and household chores. Most importantly, with the hectic schedule that our parents follow, we get very little quality time to spend with them. For which, I have made sure that I not loose even a single moment and enjoy the company of my parents the most. As a History student, I have read about how the nation struggles due to the deadly diseases and war and today we are experiencing it. In the lockdown period, I am very worried and concerned about others outside as even my neighbour is caught abroad due to the non-functionality of flights. I did resort to panic buying in the beginning but gradually as I saw resources pumped by the government, I now only go out to buy essentials for a week. I have also learnt cooking making my mother proud of me. To maintain a healthy body, I am taking time to exercise also. The inhibition on online courses and the examination curiosity makes us all feel uncertain on when the situation would return back to normalcy. I feel that Humanity has come to the brim and we must all associate and help each other in times of need. With the hope that the situation may not turn grim, it is vital for each one of us to render our support to the teachers, police forces and doctors who as warriors are fighting and gaining more respect in each one's hearts. I abide the lockdown rules and request each one to sincerely follow the protocols and guidelines laid by the Government of India.

The "South" took over the Citadel-- An Analysis of the rising South Indian Film Industry | Student Works

The South Indian film industry has been in a vehement uproar over the last five to six years. The trend and the taste of the audience have turned the tables of focus towards South Indian movie industry, only further solidified by the Golden Globes’ win bagged by RRR’s music director MM Keeravani, as well as their Oscars’ nomination for Best Foreign Film. Sequels and prequels about 'smugglers' (Rockybhai and Pushpa) have taken over the game into what we cinematically call the "next level." Since R. Rajamouli and his vision of filmmaking which he calls 'larger than life’ films, fictitious characterizations are placed over and above gravity. His exuberance has paid off well at the box office, and his filmography proves the same. Emotional undertones in diverse stories like Eega aimed for the viewers' hearts straight in the bull's eye. Baahubali, RRR , and Pushpa broke the box office records, and the otherwise stereotypical advantages of Bollywood put the
