In - House Lecture on 22 July conducted by Department of International Studies and History

The Department of International Studies and History held its first in – house lecture on 22nd July for the both year International Studies Students and the Law Students at Room number 911

The event was presided by Dr. Venugopal Menon, HoD, Department of International Studies and History and the Panelists for the day – Prof. Alexander Samuel, Prof. George Jose, Prof. Joshy. M. Paul, Prof. Madhumati Deshpande and Prof. Gitika Kapoor

The discussion centred around the dispute between Philippines and China over the South China Sea. The topic was covered by the panelists from the perspectives of International Law, History of the region, Environmental Impact, Political Impact and from the perspective of the impact of the dispute on India’s trade.


After an hour long discussion on the various issues engulfing the dispute, there followed a question and answer session bringing the programme to a fruitful conclusion with a vote of thanks by Saagar Kote, Student Council Representative for 1MAIS

MoU with ASHOKA University – Harvard Yenching Institute

This MoU is to build academic and research resources on China Studies and related areas as a thriving discipline. It will also enable the department to create new knowledge in India about different countries, particularly on China.
