Inauguration of the PG Association - Lyceum

 The inaugural ceremony of Lyceum, the first Postgraduate Association was held on 2nd July. The function was presided over by Dr. Venugopal, HOD, Department of International Studies and History, Fr. Jose CC and the chief guest for the day Dr. Lal CA, English Professor, University of Kerala and the representative of Whole Earth Project.

The function commenced with an invocation song by the second years followed by a welcome address by Dr. Vagishwari. Niyati from 1MAIS briefed the audience regarding the first PG association for the political science students – Lyceum
Pearl from 2nd year gave an insight about the objectives of the association. The objectives aimed at all round development of the students from not only the International Department, but across the University through MUN, debates and through university activities.


This was later followed by a speech of encouragement by Dr. (Fr) Joseph CC urging the students to go along with the change and inculcate the qualities of persistence and hardwork. He also appreciated the decision to name the association as Lyceum. 


This was followed by the launch of the magazine by Dr. Lal and Fr. Joseph. Dr. Lal representative of the Project Whole Earth spoke about the growing dangers due to detoriating environment and the measures the students can take up as individuals to save the environment. He also appreciated the greenery in the campus and the waste management techniques initiated by the campus.

A documentary on Project Hard Rain was also screened which highlighted the hardships faced by the people due to the deterioration of the environment. Post presentation the newly appointed members were announced. The programme concluded with Dr. Venugopal presenting Parivarthana (a CSA wing) product as a token of appreciation in the august presence of the audience.

MoU with ASHOKA University – Harvard Yenching Institute
