Panel Discussion on “The Future of India- Pakistan Relations”

Department of International Studies and History, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in collaboration with NIAS, BU and St Joseph’s conducted a panel discussion on “The Future of India- Pakistan Relations.” The discussion was based on the book “Strategy Trap” authored by Lt Gen (retd) Dr. Prakash Menon.

The panellists Prof D. Suba Chandran, Prof. BM Chengappa and Lt Gen Dr. Prakash Menon gave significant inputs to the discussion. Prakash Menon initiated the discussion sharing his views on whether India- Pak relation will move forward under Imran Khan. “The Strategy Trap: Exploring the Nuclear Dimension in the bilateral relation” was the topic discussed by Chengappa who in turn gave a review on the book as well. The third panellist Lt Gen Prakash Menon responded to the analysis put forth by the previous speakers focusing on “India and Pakistan under the Nuclear Shadow.”

Dr. Fr Richard Rego SJ, Director, Collaboration & Research Centre felicitated the gathering. Fr. Victor Lobo SJ, Principal. St Joseph’s College and Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Director, NIAS gave initial remarks for the event.

MoU with ASHOKA University – Harvard Yenching Institute
