Battle of Brains - 2 day fest by Department of International Studies and History

The Department of International Studies and History held its first ever departmental fest, The Battle of Brains on the 12 th and 14 th of December. The inaugural ceremony was presided by Dr. Venugopal Menon, HOD, Department of International Studies and History, Dr. Vagishwari SP and Rev. Fr. Benny Thomas, Director, School of Law, The event commenced with an invocation song, seeking the blessings of almighty, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Vagishwari and introduction to the event by Dr. Venugopal Menon. Father Benny Thomas through his words of encouragement boosted the morale of the participants and congratulated the department for their efforts. The first event - Just a Minute started for the day saw students talking on various global issues. These were a source of enrichment of the existing knowledge, followed by Mock United Nations where students represented different countries in the General Assembly and Security Council. Battle of the brains - A two day fest conducted by Lyceum PG Association, Department of International Studies and History, Christ University

Battle of Brains is a two day fest hosted by the Lyceum PG Association of Department of International Studies and History to facilitate not only interaction of the department with other departments, but also to enable to create an environment of debates, discussions, analysis and questioning amongst members of diverse departments and making them aware of the course and the opportunities that it offers. Here are the details of the two day fest.  1)       Just a minute (JAM) Date: 13 th December, 2016 Venue: Panel Room Time: 11 p. m – 2 p. m (Preliminary Round)            3 p. m – 4 p. m (Finals) Just-A-Minute (or JAM) is an event that requires the participants to speak on any given topic non-stop for one minute. The participant picks one chit among many, gets 1 minute to prepare herself/ himself and then begins his/her speech. It will be an intra-departmental event.
