The
Department of International Studies and History celebrated World Youth Skills
Day on July 15 by organising a whole day training session for the various
classes of HEP and EPS course. Conducted by the senior batch of MAIS, the talks
mostly addressed soft and academic skill development. The purpose of conducting
such events is to give opportunities to students to familiarise themselves with
the field of teaching as well as promote development of certain skills
necessary for future endeavours of the learners.
The
first session was on enhancement of debating skills by Lesley Simeon and
Sreetama Chakraborty. This was followed by a talk on the art of formal writing
by Aishwarya Sanas and Kritika Shukla. The third session was about the
intricacies of academic writing conducted by Meghna Jaswal and Nishant Sharma.
The day ended with a skill training session on performing at interviews by
Akanksha Jaimini, Manisha Mahalingam and Palak Arora.
