The
Department of International Studies and History in collaboration with India Pakistan Soldiers' Initiative hosted a Play "Hatya Ek Aakar ki"
directed by Mr. M. K. Raina on Friday July 5, 2019.The play was portrayed
around a group of men who conspire
to assassinate a great man for many political and social reasons. They felt
that he had sacrificed the interests of the majority and was to be blamed for
the partition of India. They decide to hold a mock trial of the man and create
a court scene where a lawyer and a historian representing the Prosecution make
pointed accusations. A young man posing as the Defendant replies stating his
strong belief in his principles. The historical events surround
Independence now come to the fore. The Prosecutors in the mock trial try
threats and bribery, but fail. The play was well received by the
audience.
